Research by Extentia Group has revealed the opportunity to boost employee productivity through better workplace environments.
The recently published report focuses on two distinct groups – Morning Larks (those who are more productive in the morning) and Night Owls (those who are more productive in the afternoon/evening).
Evidence suggests the workplace environment has a direct impact on your productivity, supporting or hindering alike. As businesses consider optimising their space for business performance and efficiencies, whether as a small or large-scale project, managing the adoption for employees is critical to the success.
We understand change is essential for businesses to grow, evolve and thrive, however, all too often the impact of change on the workforce gets forgotten about or poorly managed. Many organisations invest time and money into new workplace strategies without a clear plan on the management and transition of the process. The lack of change management can lead to a lack of buy-in and adoption by employees, presenting further productivity challenges.
Moreover, introducing new technologies and processes designed to drive efficiencies could also have the opposite effect if employees struggle to understand or utilise the new tools. Landing new ways of working or implementing new technology without training and a smooth change transition, can be very overwhelming for employees; and without the manageable level of adjustment the project investment could well be questioned.
Landing change effectively will further promote an agile workplace allowing your business to respond to the continual shift of change that we see in today’s society, setting you and your people at the forefront; instead of getting left behind.
